Our Pastor

Pastor David Balzer

Pastor David Balzer

In 2014, the Grace Presbyterian Church (now Grace Church for All Nations) congregation unanimously voted to call David Joseph Balzer its new full-time pastor. David, his wife Laura, and their twins Ben and Cate moved from Birmingham, AL, to join the fellowship.

David was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America in 2003 to serve as the campus minister for Reformed University Fellowship at East Tennessee State University (2003–2011) and at King College (2003-2006). He then served a church plant in Springville, AL through Community Church PCA in Moody, AL. From 2012 to 2013 he served as interim pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Chelsea, AL. From 2013-2014 David served as pastor of outreach for Community Church and taught Bible at Westminster School at Oak Mountain PCA in Birmingham.

David earned a bachelor of arts degree in humanities from Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, N.C., in 1999. He earned his master of divinity degree from Greenville Seminary in Greenville, S.C., in 2003.

“After four and a half years of looking for a permanent call as pastor in a church, God answered,” David said.

David said his reasons for coming to Atlanta were threefold: “I love the diversity of the Greater Atlanta area, the setting of a cosmopolitan area in a large city that’s still in the South, and the gospel emphasis of this particular congregation.

David loves to meet new people and to care for people. He finds great pleasure in seeing the power of the gospel in their lives and getting to participate in that. He longs to know and reflect the love of God more deeply through faith in Jesus Christ.
