“An Upside Down Salvation”

Pastor David Balzer’s sermon for Aug. 16 is from Acts 17:1-15, and it’s called “An Upside Down Salvation.”

Here’s a poem that is about what his sermon is about:

High and Low

The high become low and the low become high

because God Most High came to suffer and die,

coming down to be lifted in the lowest of ways

down again to be placed in the highest of graves

to remain for the space of the gravest three days

Then up!

Up while the light of the sky was still low

rose the light of the world from the night of our woe

to shine on the woman who lowness had known.
